Project Description:
Vincent’s Village is a construction development for the creation of senior supportive housing in Nanuet, NY. The project consists of 5 buildings totaling 93 units of affordable housing. Three of the buildings are residencies while the other two offer community space for residents. These apartments are residential units for senior households at or below 60 percent of the area’s median income. Available units include a mix of 81 one-bedroom apartments and 12 two-bedroom apartments. Thirty-five apartments will be set aside for frail elderly households. On-site amenities include a fitness room, a computer room, and supportive services including health monitoring, care coordination and case management, counseling, and social activities. Additionally, Vincent’s Village will have numerous energy-efficient features including high-performance thermal enclosure and air-sealing; high efficiency heating, cooling and ventilation equipment; and low flow plumbing fixtures. The project received funding through the Empire State Supportive Housing Initiative (ESSHI) to provide supportive housing and case management services for 45 apartments, as well as subsidy funding from NYS Housing Finance Agency.

Community Impact:
Vincent’s Village created 93 units of senior affordable and supportive housing for at-risk seniors 62 years and older on limited incomes. This project addresses the growing need for affordable housing with services for seniors– some of whom are at risk of being displaced or are homeless – and will enable them to remain connected to vital community resources and have access to high-quality health care services. Ultimately, Vincent’s Village provides seniors the resources they need to live independently and safely, helping them thrive in their community.

Organization Description:

Rockabill Development also acquires, preserves and repositions existing multifamily properties. The Sisters of Charity Housing Development Corporation is a non-profit organization that provides affordable, supportive housing to New York’s most vulnerable residents.
