Today New York Housing Conference submitted comment in support of a citywide rezoning proposed as part of the Kingston Forward Initiative. The proposal would allow for new, diverse housing types such as accessory dwelling units, duplexes, and triplexes, to meet a diversity of housing needs and price points, It sets affordability requirements, eliminates minimum parking requirements, regulates short term rentals and encourages walkable & accessible neighborhoods while maintaining historic building patterns.

We’re excited to see the City of Kingston taking initiative on housing supply. This is exactly the kind of smart growth planning our state needs to move forward!
