NYHC Testifies on Evictions and Need for Rental Assistance

The New York Housing Conference submitted testimony this week informing the public about the risk of evictions due to the pandemic and recession and the need for additional rental assistance. We testified to the City Council Committee on Housing and Buildings and the Committee on General Welfare. In our testimony, we talked about the need for additional rental assistance funding because federal funding will not cover all households owing back rent. We also discussed the state’s Emergency Rental Assistance Program’s remaining activities.
