New York Housing Conference submitted testimony to the Joint Legislative Hearing on New York State’s Executive Budget. While many of the policy proposals suggested in the Executive Budget will expand housing options and bolster the impact of the statewide affordable housing plan, the need for affordable housing remains great. NYHC stated the cost impact of any new prevailing wage requirement. We also advocated for additional funding for the following programs: public housing, senior resident service coordinator, the communities first foreclosure prevention, HHAP, AHC, neighborhood and rural preservation, and census outreach. We also provided comment on several policy proposals including support of new source of income discrimination for renters.
