June 16th legislative session ends
$2 billion in affordable housing funding was enacted in the NYS Budget on April 1 in recognition of our state’s worsening affordable housing and homeless crisis.

$2 billion unspent
Funds for 100,000-unit affordable housing initiative cannot be spent until Governor Andrew Cuomo, Senate Leader John Flanagan and Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie agree on a housing plan.

$6 billion in jeopardy
$1 NYS subsidy will leverage $3 of bonds, tax credit equity and other permanent financing on a new construction projects across the state. This money should be financing affordable housing, creating jobs and spurring local economies across the state right now!

There is no time to waste…

      • 1.5 millions rent burdened households statewide
      • 88,250 homeless statewide
      • 392,039 families on NYC public housing & rental assistance waiting lists
      • 200,000 households on NYC senior housing waiting lists an average of 7 years according to LiveOn NY
