Organization Name: WellLife Network Inc
Project Title: Medford Gardens
Project Location: Suffolk County, Long Island, NY
Project Description:
Medford Gardens is a vibrant new community in Suffolk County designed to give older adults a safe and supportive place to call home. This 67-unit residence is reserved for individuals and couples aged 55 and over, offering 100% affordable apartments with half dedicated to supportive housing. These homes provide stability for older adults exiting homelessness or recovering from mental health challenges, while also offering comfort and affordability for seniors priced out of Long Island’s housing market. WellLife Network staff will provide onsite supportive services and property management, creating a secure, caring environment where residents can age in place with dignity. With its focus on community, connection, and long-term wellness, Medford Gardens will strengthen the fabric of Suffolk County by ensuring older neighbors have the resources and housing they need to thrive.
Community Impact:
Medford Gardens addresses one of Long Island’s most pressing needs: affordable housing for older adults. With 67 apartments reserved for individuals and couples aged 55 and over, the development provides a lifeline for seniors who are too often priced out of the region’s housing market. Half of the units will serve as supportive housing, offering stability and dignity for older adults exiting homelessness or recovering from mental health challenges. By creating a safe, affordable community with onsite support and property management, Medford Gardens allows residents to age in place while remaining connected to their neighbors. At a time when affordable housing is desperately needed across Long Island, this development represents a model for how communities can respond by investing in homes that foster independence, security, and well-being while strengthening the social fabric of Suffolk County.
