WINTER THOUGHT LEADERS SERIES CONCLUDES ON MARCH 26TH WITH HON. BRAD LANDER

We are pleased to invite you to final installment of the 2019 Winter Thought Leaders Speaker Series on Tuesday, March 26th. Each winter month we featured a special speaker on topics impacting affordable housing followed by a Q&A moderated by a member of NYHC’s Rising Leaders Network. This year, we are focused on the intersections between important social issues and affordable housing (Jan- DCP’s Joe Salvo on 2020 Census; Feb- CSS’s Judith Whiting on Criminal Justice; Mar- NYC Council Member Brad Lander on Education With Focus on Diversity.

BRAD LANDER
New York City Council-member, Brooklyn (D-39)

Brad Lander is a member of the New York City Council, representing the 39th District in Brooklyn. Brad serves as the Council’s Deputy Leader for Policy. He co-founded the Council’s Progressive Caucus, helped bring participatory budgeting to NYC, and has led the way toward a more just, equitable, and sustainable city.

Council Member Lander has been in leader in making progress on school diversity in Brooklyn’s District 15 and citywide. Under his leadership, serious conversations about race, segregation, and inequalities in middle schools was part of the “D15 Diversity Plan,” a public process to integrate the middle schools of Brooklyn’s District 15. Hear about Council Member Lander’s progress to date and his vision for diversity and equity in education citywide.
