For decades, New York City Housing Authority residents have been left to deal with the consequences of federal capital disinvestment. Structural issues like leaky roofs induce further damage to the aging infrastructure and cause health ramifications for residents. Due to the dire capital need, the state and city have been been dedicating their own funding to NYCHA, but unfortunately the state has been slow to utilize its funding.
